The paid audit service involves:
After you sign up for a manual assessment one of our consultants will contact you to discuss the various types of pages on your site. We will check the main page of your site and an example of each template. We will also check any important forms, tables, multimedia, etc. Our fee is based on the number of different pages we test.
Once we have assessed your site we will send you a report detailing our findings which will indicate for which (if any) Access Keys awards you qualify. We will then arrange a time for a short consultation by telephone to explain the report, answer any questions you may have and to make any suggestions we have for improving the accessibility of your site.
Should you need another consultation or should you want to discuss the specifics of potential changes to your site in further detail you can always arrange for additional time with our consultant (charged at an hourly rate).
If requested we can also provide a basic assessment of any potential SEO problems on your site and offer expert advice on how to better optimise your site for the organic listings in search engines.
At present 80 per cent of websites do not meet WAI accessibility standards so it is likely your site will require some work in order to receive a Universal Access Key. Should you fail to receive an award that you wanted you can take some time to make any necessary changes to your website. If you have any questions at any point in this process our consultants will always be available to help. We can even recommend a suitably qualified web designer if necessary. When you notify us that you have made the required changes to your site and you are ready we will then re-assess your site at a reduced rate.
