Skip Navigation Access Keys Criterion

Provide ways to skip over repeated navigation, content, ASCII art, etc. and group related links.

• Tab through navigation links takes a lot of time for users without a mouse, especially if using a screen reader as it will read out each link. Equally, this causes problems for people with low mobility for whom navigating a page can be time consuming anyway. Therefore, you should provide a way to skip navigation and go straight into content.
• It helps users when they can skip between headings of each section especially with longer pages.
• Spider can check for anchors but cannot check if they are needed.
• Points -
  • Three points - all above and provide a way to navigate around within the content (jump from header 4 to 2 or top^ etc).
  • Two points - skip navigation and provide table of contents if more than five headers.
  • One point - skip navigation.
