Link Target Text Access Keys Criterion
Clearly define the target of each link.
- Each and every link should be descriptive enough so users will understand where the link goes. Links such as 'click here' or 'link' do not indicate where the link leads. Someone using a screen reader to just look at the links does not really want a list of 'click here', 'click here', 'click here', ad infinitum with no description of the target pages.
- It would also help to not begin too many links with the same word or phrase, e.g. 'read more about...' or 'click for more information on...'.
- Ideally, also use the <title="link destination"> tag to describe links.
- Points - Based on a percentage of compliance (t=3p).
- Criterion weighting of three.
